Couples Retreat
Couples retreat was released on 9 October 2009. It is a romantic comedy movie, starring Vince Vaughn, Jason Bateman, Jon Favreau, Malin Akerman, Kristen Bell, Kristen David and Faizon, directed by Peter Billingsley. The movie generated revenue at box office $35,340,000. It is an average movie and all credit goes to the actors, whose performances bring up it to certain success. There was not tough competition, as Zombieland and Whip It had moved to an earlier week.
An old saying of Hollywood “Women won’t go sees a comedy in which a man cheats on his wife”, so it targets certain group of audience. The story revolves around four couples who go together to an island, to participate in a relationship-building seminar. Jason and Cynthia (Jason Bateman and Kristen Bell) bind up their marriage relationship up to eight years. And now they are there to resort, as their last chance to hold it together. Shane (Faizon Love) is there, for dating woman half of his age Trudy (Kali Hawk). Joey and Lucky (Jon Favreau and Kristen Davis) are not happy with each other but they have to be together for the sake of their teenage daughter. The fourth couple Dave and Ronnie (Vince Vaughn and Milan Akerman), they think that they are happy together but they realize that their life is not empty with problem.

Couples Retreat is not one of the block buster movies but getting average response from the audience. All the actors performed brilliantly and get good response from the spectators. Supporting actors also performed so well.
There is need to realize that why these marriages are in problem. We should identify the main problem and then solve it. There is no any problem that cannot be fixed, so we must focuses on the solutions. The movie did not go well and not getting the emotional impact it’s expecting for. If there were not such good cast then this movie may be rank the worst movie of the year.
